Start with the symptom

What is your house telling you?

Most people do not shop for an electrician by service name. They shop by what just went wrong. Find your symptom below, see what it can mean, and decide whether it is a call right now or a job to schedule.

Call now Emergency

These symptoms can point to heat, arcing, or a failing panel. They do not get better on their own.

Panel hums, buzzes, or feels warm

Can mean a loose connection or a breaker failing under load. The fix: a panel and breaker inspection, with replacement of the failing parts before they damage the bus or wiring.

Burning smell near outlets or the panel

Can mean insulation or a receptacle overheating. The fix: stop using that circuit, and have the device, wiring, and breaker checked the same day.

Breaker keeps tripping, over and over

Can mean an overloaded circuit, a short, or a breaker at the end of its life. The fix: load and fault diagnosis, then a circuit repair, a dedicated line, or a panel upgrade if the box is undersized.

Half the house lost power, lights surge and dim

Can mean a dropped leg of service or a failing main connection. The fix: service entrance and main breaker diagnosis, coordinated with the utility where the fault is on their side.

Storm or hurricane damage to wiring or the mast

Can mean a torn service mast, water in the panel, or damaged circuits. The fix: damage assessment, repair or rewiring of the affected runs, and inspection before power is restored.

Book it Scheduled work

Annoying, worth fixing, and safe to put on the calendar. Estimates are free.

Dead outlet or dead switch

Can mean a tripped GFCI upstream, a failed device, or a broken connection in the box. The fix: device level diagnosis, then replacement of the outlet, switch, or the failed connection.

Lights flicker when the AC or dryer starts

Can mean a heavily loaded circuit or a panel that is undersized for the house. The fix: load check, circuit balancing, or a dedicated circuit for the big appliance.

Old fuse box or a panel that is full

Can mean no room for new circuits and protection that predates modern loads. The fix: fuse box replacement and panel upgrade sized for the house, inspected and to code.

Buying, selling, or insuring an older home

Can mean inspection findings that stall a closing or a policy. The fix: a full electrical inspection, with documented repairs for the items flagged.

New appliance, lighting, or a remodel circuit

Can mean existing circuits are not rated for the new load. The fix: appliance installation with a dedicated circuit run to code, plus lighting installation where you want it.

A note on safety: if you see sparks, smoke, or scorch marks, or smell burning that is getting stronger, switch the circuit off at the panel if you can do it safely and call right away. Do not reset a breaker that trips instantly, again and again.
